Vegan chocolate & pear cake

  • 300 ml milk soy
  • 50 g cocoa powder
  • 200 g dark chocolate (preferably sugar free)
  • 200 g flour spelt or all purpose
  • 50 g oil sunflower
  • 15 g baking powder
  • 2 pear medium ripe
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder (optional, for dusting)


  • Line two 7 inch round molds with parchment paper and turn on the oven at 360°F.
  • Chop dark chocolate and melt it along with milk and cocoa powder in the microwave or a double boiler.
  • Mix the chocolate mixture with a whisk and add the oil. Add sifted flour and baking powder, whisk just until you get a smooth batter.
  • Add chopped pears to chocolate cake batter and pour half of it in each cake mold. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.


The vegan chocolate and pear cake keeps at room temperature for half a day, if you store it in the fridge it keeps fresh and moist up to 5 days.
