Whole wheat sweet sourdough bread {vegan recipe}
Makes one 7 inch loaf.

Ingredienti
  • 250g flourwhole wheat
  • 60g sourdough
  • 125ml water
  • 50ml agavenectar or natural apple juice
  • 50g raisins
  • 2tbsp olive oil
  • 1tsp salt
Istruzioni
  1. Let soak raisins in warm water. Meanwhile put the sourdough in a large bowl and dissolve it into the water.
  2. Add the flour and start kneading, then add the apple juice or agave, oil, drained raisins and salt. Work with your hands until you get a smooth and homogeneous dough, cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let rise until doubled (2 to 3 hours).
  3. Knead the bread dough and shape it into a loaf, place it in the pan where you will bake it lined with parchment paper. Let the loaf rise for about 3 hours.
  4. Bake your sweet bread in a preheated oven at 325°F for 30 minutes. Remove and let it cool down completely before serving.
Recipe Notes

You can turn this whole wheat sweet sourdough bread (or leftovers) into delicious rusks: just cut it into slices and bake them at 300°F for about 20 minutes, turning halfway. Keep the rusks into a jar glass or cookie tin where they’ll keep fresh at least for two weeks.
