Ingredienti
  • 500g flourwhole wheat
  • 250ml water
  • 40g vegetable shorteningor olive oil
  • 1/2tsp salt
  • 1/2tsp bycarbonate(or 1/2 sachet baking powder for a softer bread)
Istruzioni
  1. Put the flour in a bowl along with salt and baking soda, mix well with a big spoon. Form a hole in the center and pour the vegetable shortening or oil into it.
  2. Add water little by little and go on mixing with the spoon to obtain a compact dough. Finish it by hands to make it smooth and homogeneous.
  3. Divide the dough into 8 and roll each part out in a thin circle. Cook each bread on a hot non-stick pan over low heat, on each side for about 2 minutes.
Recipe Notes

If you want to prepare the piadina bread in advance or to make a stock, you can cook them halfway on the pan and let them cool down lined on a board. Then put them in a food bag and store in the fridge up to one week. When in need, just heat them on a hot pan and they’ll be as good as just prepared.
